Pokémon Ranger was the first Pokemon game to make full use of the new hardware that the Nintendo DS offered. It changed up the mechanics for catching to use the touch screen and changed the general gameplay loop with it. Is it a perfect game? No. Is it worth a play for anyone who is looking for an example on how to try something unique with an existing franchise? Yes.
