Blade Production Delayed Amid WGA Strike

With the WGA strike underway, reports are starting to come out regarding what productions have been impacted by the strike.

Per a report in The Hollywood Reporter, The Thunderbolts, currently slated for a July 26th, 2024 release, and Deadpool 3, currently slated for a November 8th, 2024 release, are both still on track to enter production on schedule in the coming weeks. These will join the two Disney+ series Agatha: Coven of Chaos and Wonder Man as well as next year's Captain America: New World Order, all three of which are currently in production.

In terms of delays, pre-production on Blade, currently slated for September 6th, 2024, has been suspended which will likely also indicate an impending release date shift. The report also notes that production on Fantastic Four, due for release on February 14th, 2025, is as of now not likely to be impacted unless the strike goes on for about six more months. There is no word on the other announced Disney+ content tentatively set for 2024 and 2025 including Daredevil: Born Again and Ironheart, both currently in various stages of production.

Stay tuned for further updates regarding the impact on Hollywood as the strike carries on.
