Eragon Moving Forward At Disney+

It's been a little while since we've heard about the Eragon adaptation at Disney+, but we now (finally) know who some of the people behind the development of the series will be. Joining the series are Todd Helbing and Todd Harthan as showrunners, with Marc Webb joining as an executive producer.

Eragon is the first in The Inheritance Cycle and was written by Christopher Paolini. It follows the story of Eragon, a young farm boy who discovers a dragon egg and tries to overthrow the evil king Galbatorix. Originally published in 2003, the series ran for four books through 2011, with a new spin-off book arriving in 2023. There was also the ill-fated theatrical adaptation in 2006 that was poorly received, though turned a profit.

Todd Helbing is perhaps best known for his work on the Arrowverse, specifically working on both The Flash and Superman & Lois. Todd Harthan has worked extensively with 20th Century Television, including most recently on High Potential and previously on Psych. Marc Webb previously directed movies like Snow White and The Amazing Spider-Man, though has had greater success on shows like Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and The Republic of Sarah.

Eragon will be released as a series on Disney+.
