First Look At David Corenswet's Superman Revealed

With 10 months until the release of James Gunn's Superman next year, a first look at the costume was released today.

Personally, I think the emblem looks good considering it is about a half-step between the iconic usual emblem and the Kingdom Come emblem. I am torn on the lines built into the suit because they have been overdone in superhero costumes recently but, considering this is just a single still image, maybe it will look better in motion. Also, the red trunks are back which is always a plus.

The other thing that's kind of missing from the discourse (which a lot of the Snyder Cult is engaging in rather than, I don't know, talking about the new movie series he is working on at another studio) is the giant pink/purple/green energy blast in the sky that almost certainly confirms that Brainiac will have a major role in the film, which will be nice since it won't just be Lex Luthor as the bad guy for the millionth time. Let's see how this plays out though in practice because if Brainiac and Lex Luthor and The Authority and select members of the Justice League are in the movie, it could be over bloated in the same way Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was.

Superman releases in theaters on July 11th, 2025.
