June 2024 Site Update
Hey everyone, just wanted to provide a quick update as to what we will be doing in the near future for the various podcasts and the website itself, especially since people waking up this morning will look at the site and notice it looks drastically different from it did yesterday.
- The website's layout has been updated to make navigation easier. The list of categories and key franchises is now visible from essentially every page except the pages for the categories themselves. This will hopefully be fixed in the future. This also replaces the keyword cloud that was in the footer since that was an unholy disaster of a system to find articles. This is cleaner and easier to use.
- Starting 6/24, we are going back to the old-ish system for Thirty Minute Reviews where the weekly episodes are reviews of movies, rather than a weekly news show. If major news stories do happen during the week, these will still be covered in stand-alone episodes. These reviews will be done using the standard 5-Star rating system as if the movie was coming out in theaters this week. For an explanation of this system, click here.
- Starting this week (date to be announced), we will be expanding the offerings in The Backlog Files in an effort to increase the diversity of topics covered on the website. Considering the website is only a year old (and the coverage of video games first on Beware of Spoilers, now on The Backlog Files has been sporadic at best) this will allow us to explore more games than just the Pokémon franchise as we have been up until this point. The first game in this series will be The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap.
- Starting with Skeleton Crew (or whatever Star Wars show comes after The Acolyte), Star Wars weekly episode reviews will be on Exploring Hyperspace Lanes instead of Beware of Spoilers. The same is true for reviews of Star Wars books starting this week with Temptation of the Force. Standard book and comic reviews will still be on Beware of Spoilers.
