Movie Review: Back to Black

Since launching the new rating system, I don't think we've encountered a movie that is so quintessentially a 3/5 in the way that Back to Black is. It is serviceable, and if someone is already a fan of Amy Winehouse they will probably have a good enough time watching it, but do not go into this expecting to gain a greater understanding of the woman behind the artist. Had this film come out on Amazon Prime or Netflix, this would be an above average entry for that service but as a theatrical release that is getting pushed in premium format theaters, the experience falls short.
