Movie Review: Kinds of Kindness
Kinds of Kindness feels overlong and uneven, with creative decisions that don't always land properly.

Every once in a while a movie will come out and I'll leave the theater thinking that maybe I'm just dumb for not understanding it. I don't think Kinds of Kindness quite hits that level because I left the movie fully understanding what the point of it was, however it's just clearly overlong and weirdly paced. On top of this, some of the more creative decisions made to build the kind of dream-like quality of the sections don't always land properly so some of the stilted dialogue comes across weird. The central themes of the movie come through, it just feels a little off at times in a way that other films like it like The Banshees of Inisherin didn't.
The big issue with this movie that holds it back from being a five-star film like Poor Things is that each of the three parts go on just a little too long and all three overlong runtimes compound into a two hour and forty-five minute runtime. The movie not only is long, it feels long which is a fundamental issue.
