Nintendo Switch Online Adds Two Game Boy Games
The classic titles Yoshi and Balloon Kid have officially joined the library of Game Boy games available through Nintendo Switch Online. Check out the trailer below:
Yoshi originally released in North America 34 years ago and is a falling block puzzle game (think Columns or Tetris). The player takes control of Mario as he tries to keep multiple stacks of enemies from getting too high. If two enemies of the same type touch, both get eliminated. If monsters are stacked between the top and bottom half of a Yoshi egg, the player gets bonus points. The Game Boy edition had link cable multiplayer and was the first collaboration between Game Freak and Nintendo.
Balloon Kid originally released in 1990 and is basically a new version of the Balloon Trip mode of Balloon Fight. The screen perpetually scrolls and the player has to keep Alice from dying as she gets from the beginning of the level to the end while collecting balloons.
Both Balloon Kid and Yoshi are available now for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in the Game Boy Nintendo Classics app.
