Rewatch: WandaVision Episode 8

The penultimate episode of WandaVision makes the best case for both Wanda being intended as a possible overarching post-Endgame antagonist and also that, even in the current MCU paradigm, Wanda is likely not dead. I do like that they spend a good amount of time setting up why Wanda is where she is when this show starts, however the role of Agatha in the proceedings continues to be the muddiest aspect of this show. The show attempts to show Agatha as the bad guy in the MCU's standard black-and-white morality, but aside from Agatha attempting to kill Tommy and Billy and wanting to steal the power of the Scarlet Witch for herself (more on that next week), she could have been easily portrayed more positively or maybe even an anti-hero. It's odd that the show goes out of its way to make Agatha evil when Wanda has spent eight episodes holding an entire town hostage and forcing them to live out her fantasies.  This feels like a kind of on-the-fly change that came about as overarching plans changed including the  finalization of the Fox deal.
