This Week Across Our Channels (Week of 12/14/2025)
Some notes on ads, a shift from last week, and Avatar: Fire and Ash finally arrives in theaters.
Ok so a few quick things before we get started on what's going on this week.
Number one, we now have some ads on the site. Unlike other sites that will crash your web browser with them, these are going to be minimal. There will be at most three: one at the start of an article, one at the end, and one in the middle if it is a longer piece. The disclosure page will be updated with a list of sponsors but there are a few sponsor types we wouldn't even consider such as gambling, fintech, AI companies, and no companies reported on by us.
The last point does leave some wiggle room because of how vast these conglomerates can be. For example, we report on Sony Pictures and occasionally on first-party titles released by Sony for PlayStation, however Sony does sell a large amount of consumer electronics. Because a positive review of Spider-Man: Brand New Day is unlikely to influence a sale of a Sony television or computer, that is something we would not be against advertising (and we have applied for their affiliate program). On the other side of things, we did have the ability to apply for the affiliate program for a studio's online store and opted against it because a positive review on a franchise movie could be construed as an attempt to generate merch sales to make money on the back end.
Number two, we had to shift some things on last week's schedule into this week. Doing Wake Up Dead Man on the same night as Ella McCay seemed like a good idea on paper, but I was exhausted on Friday after working and then seeing the movie. On top of that, there is currently a snowstorm happening, so Song Sung Blue is going to be delayed as well.
Anyway, here's the schedule:
Monday: Beware of Spoilers - Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
Monday: MWPNewsGaming - Minecraft (Part 2)
Tuesday: The Backlog Files - Pokemon Legends: Z-A - The Mega Dimension DLC
Thursday: Beware of Spoilers - Avatar: Fire and Ash
Friday: MWPNewsGaming - Final Fantasy XIII (Part 2)
Friday: Thirty Minute Reviews - Trailerpalooza
So by next Friday we will definitely have the trailer for Avengers: Doomsday along with last week's trailer for Supergirl. I have a feeling those won't be the only two major trailers released this week to run before Avatar: Fire and Ash.
